SET#1

Crossfire Project Base project space is located in the basement of Pakhuis Wilhelmina, in the eastern port area of Amsterdam. It is a beautiful space with beamed ceiling and 2 large pillars to support the building. Four installation artists each worked in this space for a week and showed their installations over 4 consecutive weekends.
Barbara Damen made the installation "Waterwork" in May 2007, inspired by the gardens of the Alhambra in Granada. "Waterwerk" grows there into an artificial garden, where visitors can wander around. Or they can sit on a bench at the edge of an elongated pond and watch the reflection of light in moving water and listen to the sound of rippling, splashing and dripping water. A motionless gargoulle, meanwhile, weeps her ever-continuing tears in the pond.

equipment: video projections and monitors, photo light boxes, containers with water, tiles, benches.
